neighbor Dave: Feb 18: Howdy! Please see both the Community News and HOA News pages for important info!
Dave: 10/30- I just updated the HOA News page... now that we have a HOA board!
Dave: Has anyone used a home inspector? The kind that check that all's well BEFORE our one year warranty is up? Have any recommendations? Just curious...
Dave: Notice: See the HOA News page for DR Horton warranty work information!
Dave: I see our management company created a website too (after knowing about this one for at least six months), and is now charging us residents for it.Can't wait for residents to be part of the HOA...Happy Holidays, everybody!
Dave: And, of course, if you like this site... PLEASE tell your neighbors about it. Thanks!
Dave: Okay, I've moved everything, and set up an add-it-yourself section to our photo albums. (It's easy, but if you have problems, contact me!)Let me know how you like the new site!
Dave: FYI: I'll be moving this website onto it's own hosting service shortly. I'll have to adjust both the bulletin board and contact files... so please bear with me during the transition. Hope y'all like the new site!
Michelle Clifton: Hi Desiree Stockton, we live next door to Dave who designed this. Lot 62 in phase 1. I have a 6 yr old and 3 yr old girl. Also looking for playmates. We will be in the park in your pahse this weekend in the mornings before it gets hot. Hope to maybe see you there.
Mead: Just thought I would mention to anyone interested that Dietz-Crane now has sales trailers on Pinnacle Peak Road ion Pinnacle Peak Road in Desert Ridge selling the same models we have here, as they said they would. Prices there are starting at a base of $381,000 for the Mohave model.
Adam & Desiree Stockton: We finally moved in Lot #6 Enclave Phase II. We have a 5 year old girl and an eight year old boy so if anyone has kids in that age range that are looking to play in the neighborhood or in the park, let me know!
Amy and Greg Dockham: Love the wedsite! My husband has met lots of neighbors but I am looking forward to meeting some myself. I'm usually held up with our 9 month old little boy. Thanks again for the website!
Josh & Tiffany Ackerman: Hi Dave, good job on the website. It's neat to see our house on it. We are lot #1. We met you and your wife one day when we were visiting it while it was being built. Anyway, thanks for the website.
John T.: Just stopping by to say hi to all. Thanks for making a site for the area Dave! Great Job!
Mead: Works for me, Dave... stop by and say hi sometime (you can meet my dog this time). In the meantime, I'll feel out some of my neighbors.
Dave: Welcome neighbors! Gosh, it's fun to see people actually moving in and living here. I definately think we should get together, network, discuss living with friends (relatives) for months, etc. Perhaps a Sunday afternoon, maybe mid September? Any thoughts?
Mead (again): By the way... I want to throw open something I believe Dave may have mentioned a few weeks ago... Does anyone have any interest in getting together to do a meet 'n' greet... just sort of get to know each other? We could meet at a restaurant near the development, or I would even offer my home since I'm pretty much all moved in (besides, my dog likes meeting people, too). Just an idea.... any input is appreciated.
Mead: Hi Dave. Obviously I visit (numerous times) and I have been mentioning the Web site to other people who, like me, have already moved in. It's kind of scary to think that I'm actually coming up on a full month in my Desert Peak home! I'm sure that, as word gets out about the Web site, more people will visit. I am also curious about the homeowners association. Does anyone know who is on it? I know the builder runs it until 75 percent of the homes have closed, but I think there are supposed to be a couple of resident spots on the board for now, and I have no way of figuring out who those people are. I ask because I've already noticed a few issues... if anyone is interested, let me know and I will be happy to share. I have previous experience serving on HOA boards, so I'm trying to keep an eye out for problems that may arise.
Adam: I visit here ocassionally! I (along with my wife and two kids) will be moving into Phase II Enclave in about 2 months - so perhaps I do not fit in here :)
Dave: Question for y'all: I have this site set up as part of my company site. I'd like to move it to it's own hosting, which would be about $40/year. That would give us the ability to upload our own photos, as well as some other fun things. My question is... how many people are visiting here? Will we want to use this in the future, for board meeting notices, etc? If we have enough interest, I'll move it. Let me know your thoughts!
Gail: Great website. Just had our walk though this morning. Can't get confirmation on a closing date but it will come eventually!! Looking foward to meeting our neighbors. Keep posting the up-dates. Thanks Dave for getting this going.
Dave: RESIDENTS! Okay. I've got to add a new button to our photo page... Residents! Susie and I visited the site today (Sat 7/21) and there were residents moving into at least three homes! It's happening! The wait is over! (Well, for some of them anyway! The rest of us will be any day now. Cool!) See y'all soon!
Mead: Adam... I got a call this week to meet with the escrow people, and then yesterday I got a call for a final home inspection. I'm told I might receive a key this week... so Phase 1 may soon be at least partially occupied!
Adam: I see now that the main road is open - does this mean people are ready to move in? Boy it is about time some of the Phase II houses are getting finished up now!
Mead (again): 7/10/07. Since the big day is aparently coming (although as Adam opints out below, it's seemed that way for a while now), I went onto the Cox Web site to look at cable, internet, etc. Having moved here from out of state, I have not had to deal with Cox before, but man, than is one confusing website!! Anyway, the Phase 2 homes seem to be going up fast!
Mead: Just thought that I'd add that I heard from Horton this week. I'm in Phase 1, and they told me that they've sent an asphalt sample to the City for approval. If Phoenix grants approval for the roads, then they can proceed with the water meters. Their latest estimate on closing for the first group of homes is the week of July 18 or 25, assuming approvals come in on time, which has been the rub pretty much all along...
Dave: 7/01/07: Just FYI: Cox just informed me that parcels 1 & 2 have been 'released' to their sales office... so we can now order service. If only we knew when we were moving in! But hey... it's coming along! See y'all soon(er or later!)
Adam: I am in Phase 2 so the delays are not bothering me. We were told our house would be one of the first to be started in Phase 2 and we are one of the last - but considering I have not sold my house yet I am not the least bit upset. I would be upset if I was in Phase 1, though. Some of those houses have been done for months!
Mead: Hi Dave..... I'm certainly open to meeting. I go past the development all the time. Maybe we can all stand in front of the sales trailer (uh, given the heat, maybe not) and stand there looking impatient. :-)
Dave: Howdy Mead! Yes, once the walkthroughs are done, it ain't fun watching our homes sitting there... unoccupied. Heck, we've got things to do! I'm not sure about the delays, but I AM sure of the zip code. It'll be 85024. The folks on the east side of Cave Creek will be 85050. (We're on a zip code line!) If I learn anything new... I'll write again. Hope to see you soon! Maybe we should all meet one Sunday over there? Any takers?
Mead: OK, I just have to ask... is anyone else getting annoyed with the constant delays? I've already had my walkthroughs, and it seems the utility companies and the city need to get on the stick... I wish they'd repave and open up Pinnacle Peak Road already. By the way, on that score, at one time the extension of Pinnacle Peak Road was called Desert Peak Parkway. The street sign now says Pinnacle Peak Road. Does anyone know which it's going to be? And finally, what's our ZIP code going to be? Someone told me 85024, someone else said 85054. Being new in the area, I have no idea. Looking forward to meeting everyone, Mead
Dave: Okay, I updated the photos. I've been busy trying to sell my current home!(Any buyers?) I'll add more as soon as I can find some more free time.... Hope to see y'all soon!
Adam: Yep time to update the photos. Anyone know the gate situation? I just noticed one of the houses in the area that they first started building there is a tiny half size gate, while most have a regular size gate. Any idea why? Hope I don't have a mini gate.
Adam: Anyone notice the huge price cuts they are doing on the spec homes? They have a Pinnacle (3900 sq ft) available at $425,000 with options. It's aggravating when I paid a decent amount more for a smaller house (Ventanna).
Dave: We're all in this together... so, glad to be of service! Guess I need to update the photos too. I have lots more to add... with homes now on some of these 'lots'! Yes, I promise to get to it soon... now that I know people are looking! :)
Adam Stockton: Thank you for buying this website and saving the community some of the rediculous $500/month Charge! Adam & Desiree Lot 6 Phase 2

greg: great job and great idea!
Susie: Great website. Keeps us in touch even when we can't be there to "view" on our own.
Dave: If you're visiting, please leave a note here! Thanks!
Dave: I'm a future homeowner here, and I hope you like this website... as much as I like our homesites!
dave: Welcome to the Desert Peak board!
